Positive: The villa is unique and historic from 1870. That gives it a nice historical vibe. Also nice is the pool which is small but perfect to cool off. The gardens around are huge and really nice. The rooms were really big and very authentic with old furniture and paintings. The villa is a 5 minute walk from the sea and several restaurants. The bast was Roberto and his wife who helped with everything and made a great breakfast every morning
Negative: The villa is old so has all the authentic issues. We had a short issue with the hot water for showering but this was fixed within 2 hours.

Positive: The atmosphere was very serene, the room was beautiful and clean. I enjoyed reading a book by the pool or in the garden. Breakfast was great too. It’s less than 5 minutes walking to the beach and not a far drive to Taormina.

Positive: We absolutely loved staying at the Villa Carozza. Our Host Roberto was in good contact before we arrived and was really flexible when we had to change our dates. He met us on arrival and had the room ready early in the morning - which was huge btw. The place is a lovely rustic old mansion which a very elegant entry way through a gate at the bottom of the garden, and judging by some drone footage I took it's the oldest building in the area. The villa has a lovely big garden, a cute pool to relax in, a sunbathing area, outside tables... oh and a chicken coup. Roberto is a really lovely guy, he made some great suggestions for where to eat nearby and also further afield. We went to two places on the beach that he suggested, both we brilliant, he also suggested we go and visit the village of Savoca, which is gorgeous, and some of the Godfather was filmed there. He's a font of local knowledge and clearly takes his business as a host seriously. Roberto made a very generous breakfast each morning of cold cuts and cheese, yoghurt, fresh coffee, juice – I'd call it an extended continental breakfast and it kept us well stuffed to go out and explore.
Negative: The general vibe of the place is rustic I would say, and while we really enjoyed this and kind of expected it, I think it could be a surprise if you arrive expecting it to be modern and everything in brand-new condition. It's not, and I think it's fairly reflected in the price as it's the best value we could find this end of Sicily. I am honestly struggling to find fault with the place but if I had to, the only things that might affect your stay are the noise of the railway line across the road ( trains are very infrequent though and the plot is very well secluded by the surrounding trees. Oh and the doorknob fell off! lol. Seriously, this is great place to stay with bags of character. It was like being in our own homely villa and we will definitely be coming back.
